Connect your practice’s API key in workspace Integrations. Your practice must enable API access and have its eConnector running. Select an active primary dentist, a non-hygiene operatory, appointment duration and practice timezone before enabling assistant actions.

Check the complete scenario
- Match one existing patient using their confirmed first name, last name and date of birth.
- Find appointment times using the practice’s selected dentist, operatory and duration.
- Book a general appointment after the patient confirms their identity and chosen time.
- Practice with simulated patients and appointments, then verify an actual booking in an authorized test practice before using it with patients.
Use this connection for existing-patient general appointments with a primary dentist. New patient registration, hygiene appointments, clinical procedures, appointment changes and cancellations require practice staff. A saved connection alone does not verify live booking.
Understand the cost
Normal Burki voice and telephone usage charges apply. Open Dental’s production API permissions and per-practice charges are separate. Confirm those terms with Open Dental; a free developer test license does not make production practice access free.
