Before you connect
- A Burki workspace administrator account and a saved assistant.
- A Cal.com account with an API key, a connected calendar and an appointment type supported by Burki. Your Cal.com plan must allow the features you use.
- Confirm the appointment duration, availability, time zone and required attendee details in Cal.com before enabling live booking.
Review Burki usage pricing and your provider’s plan before a live test. Telephone calls, phone numbers and optional SMS can add charges; this guide does not promise a free provider plan.
Access and permissions
The Cal.com API key connects one account at workspace level. Every assistant using Cal.com shares the selected appointment type.
Burki uses the connection to read available appointment times and create bookings. Keep the key private; never paste it into an assistant prompt.
Choose scheduling actions on each assistant. Connecting the workspace alone does not give every assistant permission to book.
Connect and configure
Create your Cal.com key
In your Cal.com account settings, create an API key. Keep it somewhere secure and do not include it in screenshots or support messages.
Connect the workspace
Open Integrations in Burki, select Cal.com, paste the key into the Cal.com API key field and choose Connect Cal.com.
Choose an appointment type
Select a supported Workspace appointment type and choose Save appointment type. An unavailable type shows the setting that blocks voice booking. Changing this selection affects all assistants using Cal.com in the workspace.
Enable the assistant actions
Open your saved assistant’s Actions tab, add Cal.com and select the available scheduling actions. Give the assistant instructions to confirm the caller’s time and details before booking. Save and publish the assistant when ready for real calls.
Test the workflow
Start with a browser practice call. Calendar actions are simulated; a practice booking is not an appointment in Cal.com.
For a real booking test, use an authorized telephone call and an available test slot. Verify the attendee, appointment time and time zone in Cal.com afterwards. Cancel any unwanted test appointment in Cal.com.
Troubleshooting
- No supported appointment types
- Read the reason shown beside each appointment type. Adjust its required fields or other unsupported settings in Cal.com, then refresh the connection. Do not bypass a disabled type.
- No available times
- Check the connected calendar, time zone, notice period and availability in Cal.com. A previously offered slot can become unavailable before the caller confirms it.
- A booking result is uncertain
- Check Cal.com for the appointment before trying again. Do not assume a network error means no booking was created.
- The key no longer works
- Check whether the key expired or was revoked in Cal.com. A workspace administrator can disconnect and reconnect using a valid key, then recheck the appointment type and assistant actions.
Disconnect safely
- Remove Cal.com from one assistant’s Actions tab to stop that assistant using it.
- To stop workspace access, open Cal.com in Integrations and choose Disconnect workspace calendar. Calendar actions stop until the workspace is reconnected.
- Revoke the API key separately in Cal.com to remove provider-side access. Existing appointments remain in Cal.com; disconnecting does not cancel them.
Data and support
Availability comes from Cal.com. Confirmed booking details, including the attendee information needed for the appointment, are sent to Cal.com. Existing bookings and Burki call history are separate records; disconnecting is not a request to delete either.
Burki’s privacy policy explains retention and data requests. Your workspace settings and applicable terms govern your account. Disconnecting an integration is separate from requesting deletion. See the terms of service for service conditions.
